SCTelcom is out to compete with the growing cell phone market, which has changed the whole industry outlook on long distance. The company has joined in the fight by introducing their new product, Spectrum. This new service offers customers local phone service plus unlimited long distance and over 20 of the most popular phone features.
The last couple of years there has been a strong increase in customers dropping their home phone companies for wireless service due to the long distance minutes many cellular phone companies offer. Because of this, many long distance phone companies are now offering better long distance packages.
"We want to give customers what they want and they want affordable long distance," stated Janice Fairbairn, SCTelcom director of business development. "We are giving them the products, cost and convenience of a wireless company with all the benefits of a land line."
