Medicine Lodge - Mike VanCampen, SCTelcom board president, named Stephen Davis the new general manager of SCTelcom, effective January 1, 2004.
Davis has been a part of the telephone business for 33 years, starting his career as the budget coordinator at Continental Telephone, which later became Contel. Davis spent the past nine years with FairPoint Communications. For the past three years Davis was in charge of planning, directing, coordinating and controlling all aspects of the FairPoint's New England branch, as the company president. The New England branch serves over 59,000 access lines throughout Maine , New Hampshire and Vermont . In his tenure at FairPoint, Davis consistently exceeded revenue expectations.
"We decided on Steve because of his organizational and staff-management skills, as well as his solid understanding of finances," stated Mike VanCampen, president of the board of directors for South Central Telephone Association, the parent company of SCTelcom.
As SCTelcom's general manager, Davis will watch over the entire SCTelcom family of companies, which include: South Central Telephone Association, South Central Wireless and South Central Communications.
"My goal is to enhance the success of SCTelcom by placing more emphasis on the delivery of our services and customer satisfaction," stated Davis.
