Scholarships

The South Central Telephone Assoc., Inc. Board of Directors and Scholarship Committee are pleased to announce the Scholarship recipients for  2008-2009: Kristen Eck-Sharon Exchange, Jeremy Harper-Burlington Exchange, Blake Koblitz-Hazelton Exchange, Ricci Lambert-Sun City Exchange, Calli Mathews-Kiowa Exchange, Kali Merklein-Kiowa Exchange, Erica Traffas-Sharon Exchange, Samantha VanRanken-Hazelton Exchange, and Anna Zink-Turon Exchange.

We will begin accepting applications for the 2009-2010 school year in January 2009 with the deadline of March 2nd 2009. The applicants must be a subscriber of South Central Telephone Assoc., Inc. or the son , daughter or legal dependent of a subscriber.

Eligibility
Any high school senior whose parent or legal guardian subscribes to South Central Telephone Assoc., Inc. local telephone service is eligible to apply.

Application
The application must include the following items to be considered complete.

  • High School transcripts
  • ACT or SAT scores
  • List of all high school extra-curricular activities
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • One from your current school administrator
  • One from anyone else you believe knows you well
  • A brief statement relating
  • how this scholarship would benefit you
  • why you have chosen your current field of study
  • A wallet size senior picture to be used for publicity purposes

Award Selection Process
A scholarship committee consisting of the Director who has been named the Scholarship Chairman and the a SCTelcom employee review the applications and select the nine winners who will be announced at the annual meeting in April 2009. Scholarship awards will be issued directly to the college in two payments, one each semester with proof of enrollment.

Completed applications must be received at the business office in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, on or before 5:00 p.m., January 31, 2008. Applications sent via facsimile or e-mail will not be accepted. Incomplete or late applications will be disqualified.
